I am leaving DeviantART, leaving a few things on my account (assuming I don't get banned) that may be of some value to others, due to a history of offensive and discourteous gestures (regardless of whether the issues in question were eventually resolved) by the administration toward users and content policies that are completely absurd, spineless, and puritanical in the context of contemporary art.
This web site is completely and utterly useless as a portfolio and should not be used as such by anyone who doesn't draw Kim Possible softcore porn, and the only reason most of us stay is because we're guaranteed a certain amount of attention from random passers-by and it's free. Having an account here is incredibly unprofessional.
Of course some of you already know this is largely a response to this situation;
[link]However since such behavior generally proves to be the rule, not the exception, I don't think I'm being too impulsive, since I've been looking for an excuse to stop posting here--
and by posting this journal I shall shame myself out of ever returning.
Of course, I no longer have my own domain name or web space, since I do not want to pay for them when I currently have little work to display, so this is what I'm going to do:
I'm purging my LiveJournal of private content and turning it into a public blog. I am doing this instead of making a new LJ for security purposes. You may add me as a friend without posing any threat to my privacy, and I will post art.
